Terms of Service

Welcome to Clean Slate Docs. By using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). These Terms govern your access to and use of services provided by Clean Slate Docs LLC (“Clean Slate Docs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

Services and Fees

In exchange for payment of applicable service fees, Clean Slate Docs agrees to assist you (“Client”) in preparing, filing, and managing petitions for record expungement or record sealing in the applicable state where your case will be filed.

• The current service fee is $498, reduced from the standard $799 rate.
• 50% of the fee is due at checkout; the remaining balance is automatically charged once your petition is ready for filing.
• Optional Rush Processing is available for an additional $99.
• All court filing fees, attorney appearance fees, or additional state-specific costs (if any) are payable by the Client.

All fees must be paid in full before filing.

No Guarantee of Outcome

Clean Slate Docs cannot guarantee the outcome of any case. Expungement and record sealing decisions are made solely by the court and are outside our control.

However, we guarantee diligent preparation, accurate filing, and full compliance with applicable legal procedures. If a filing is rejected due to our error, we will correct and refile at no additional cost.

Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information regarding your case history.
• Submit required documents promptly (e.g., court records, case dispositions).
• Respond promptly to our communications.
• Attend any required hearings (if applicable).
• Make timely payments according to your selected plan.

Failure to meet these obligations may result in delays, additional costs, or termination of service without refund.

Document Filing and Representation

Clean Slate Docs prepares, signs, and files petitions on your behalf, as authorized in your Professional Services Agreement.

If a court appearance is required, Clean Slate Docs can arrange attorney representation under a separate agreement for a fee of $450 per court appearance.

Processing Times and Communication

We aim to process all eligible cases efficiently. However, completion timelines depend on factors outside our control, such as:

• Court backlogs,
• State processing speeds, and
• Client responsiveness.

We will provide regular updates via email and through your preferred communication channel (e.g., Tally form follow-ups, Calendly calls, or client portal messages).

Privacy and Data Collection

By using our services, you consent to our data practices as outlined in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

We collect information through:

• Embedded Tally forms on our website,
• Calendly bookings and associated intake questions,
• Our contact form, and
• Information shared during scheduled calls.

Confidentiality

Clean Slate Docs treats all client information as strictly confidential. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data and will only share information when necessary to perform services or comply with legal obligations.

Changes in Law or Court Policy

We are not responsible for changes in eligibility, filing fees, or case outcomes resulting from amendments to state laws or court procedures. Clients are responsible for any additional fees or documentation required due to such changes.

Refund Policy

Refunds are available under the following conditions:

• Full Refund: If we determine you are not legally eligible for expungement during our internal review.
• Full Refund: If your case is denied due to an error made by Clean Slate Docs.
• No Refund: If denial occurs because of inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you, missed hearings, or eligibility determined by the court.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Clean Slate Docs, its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors from any losses, claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from:

• Your breach of these Terms,
• Misrepresentation of information, or
• Your use or misuse of our services.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clean Slate Docs’ total liability for any claim related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for those specific services.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or services.

Force Majeure

Clean Slate Docs shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, labor disputes, war, cyberattacks, or court closures.

Termination of Services

Either party may terminate the agreement with written notice. If terminated:

• You are responsible for payment for work completed to date.

• Your documents will be returned within 10 business days.

  Clean Slate Docs may terminate service for non-payment, fraud, or unresponsiveness.

Payment Terms

• All service fees are payable via secure payment gateway on our website.
• Payment plan balances will be automatically charged when petitions are ready for filing.
• Non-sufficient funds or failed transactions are subject to a $40 administrative fee.
• Services will pause for non-payment until the account is current.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be requested within 3 business days of purchase to qualify for a partial refund. All cancellations are subject to a $150 administrative fee.

After this period, refunds follow the terms in Section 9.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Professional Services Agreement and Privacy Policy, constitute the complete agreement between you and Clean Slate Docs. They supersede any prior written or verbal understandings regarding our services.

Modifications to Terms

Clean Slate Docs reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website with a revised “Effective Date.” Continued use of our services after such updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the state where your expungement case is filed.
